mindy_aboutFrom Portland, Oregon to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! The first 30 years of my life were spent in the lush cold and wet climate of Portland, Oregon, where business was a big focus of my upbringing. I graduated with a Business degree and worked in marketing and sales for radio stations in Portland, until age 30. I came to Mexico for “three months” and soon after; the rich tropical climate of Puerto Vallarta became my new home. I returned to Florida for three years to study, obtaining an Associates Degree in Ayurveda, Massage Therapy license, and Licensed Colon Therapist. Here I also began my journey in the world of Yoga practice and philosophy. Next stop, India! At the Yogananda Ashram in the northern Himalayan Mountains, I submerged myself in their Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Teacher Training programs. Whilst studying here, I realized it was time “to go to Mexico and get started.” Upon returning to Mexico, I spent a whole of three hours looking, Villa Ananda was the third property I saw, and that was it. After an arduous two years of planning and construction, Villa Ananda was ready to receive her first clients in January 2008.

The intention of Villa Ananda is to provide a high end Ayurveda destination Spa and Retreat Center giving clients an opportunity to experience something greater – balanced health, mental clarity & peace. It is my wish that they take this back into their lives, sharing with their family, work, and community, making the world a brighter place.

Today, my life’s purpose has expanded and includes raising two beautiful babies born here in Villa Ananda, Vicente in 2010 and Viviana in 2012. I am so blessed and full of gratitude to share my passion of balanced health and deeper connection to Self with every person that graces Villa Ananda.

jennifer_taylorI have dedicated my life to spiritual development and serving others on their spiritual quest. My early years in ballet and gymnastics prepared me for a natural transition to teaching yoga in my twenties. My yoga teaching style was first influenced in college by Iyengar, then Hatha, and in the last 8 years Yin/Yang, Ashtanga, and Shadow Yoga.

I have taught Yoga for many years in Northern California. During my Yoga Teacher’s Certification in Canada, I was introduced to basic Ayurvedic concepts. Shortly thereafter, I left my corporate life in the Silicon Valley to study and experience an Ayurvedic detoxification process called Pancha Karma in India. I was only three days into the program and was so touched by the deep resonance of this healing system, that I knew that I would go back home to study it formally in Grass Valley, California.

I received my certification from The California College of Ayurveda (CCA) and the American Institute of Vedic Studies, as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. I completed my Pancha Karma Therapist certification with CCA and after studying with Dr. Sarita Shrestha of Nepal. Dr. Shrestha was the first woman to become an Ayurvedic Doctor in her country, opening the door for all women. I have studied with Dr. Shrestha for 10 years in Nepal and the U.S.; I also studied Ayurveda in Southern India, Kathmandu and Baktapur, Nepal.

I live between Mexico and the U.S. where I offer both Yoga and Ayurveda. I have a daughter born in November 2010 and I enjoy salsa dancing, hiking and Shadow Yoga. My belief is that Love is the highest medicine.

lachmuthThe ancient healing tradition of Ayurveda graced my life while I was studying Yoga in India in 2001. For the five months I was there, I relied on the care of Ayurvedic doctors for illnesses I caught while traveling. The holistic, natural remedies used in treatment made me appreciate this healing experience immensely, and I started to incorporate Ayurvedic lifestyle routines into my life. While in India I traveled to different ashrams, medical clinics, and Ayurvedic herb gardens, to explore the vastness of this medical system.

Upon my return to Canada, I completed a yearlong Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification in Vancouver and later became a certified Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner. After studying and teaching many styles of Yoga, I decided to pursue my interest in Ayurveda and started working at Sapphire Day Spa, an Ayurvedic Spa in Victoria, Canada. I have since been certified in Abhyanga massage, pregnancy massage, relaxation massage, and many Ayurvedic treatments.

In 2011, I sailed from Canada to Mexico and started working as Pancha Karma assistant at Villa Ananda. When Jennifer’s teacher, Dr. Sartia Shrestha, came to Mexico in 2013, I had the amazing opportunity to shadow her in consultations. I completed Dr. David Frawley’s Ayurvedic Healing course in 2013 and Dr. John Douillard’s Pulse Reading course in 2014. Last summer I attended the Pancha Karma intensive with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico and I am currently enrolled in the California College of Ayurveda, completing level 2.

Every winter season I have the joy of working with a spiritual and knowledgeable team at Villa Ananda. I am eternally grateful to those who have helped me blossom, so I may go on to share the wisdom and love of Ayurveda.

crystal_aboutI was born in Estonia during the Soviet time. This has given me persistence, courage and innovative ideas to create my reality without limitations. Inspired by my sailor father, I have travelled to 26 countries and lived on many continents. My hunger for understanding the human nature brought me to social anthropology studies both in Norway and South Africa giving me a bachelors in social anthropology and a masters in visual cultural studies, along with a lot of cultural knowledge from living in these different countries.

After my university studies I felt a strong urge to start my own company to help people change their lives through energy work of Auratransformation (Norway and Denmark), Tantra body work (Germany and Estonia) , Lomi Lomi and Huna knowledge (Hawaii, BI), Access Consciousness (USA, Costa Rica, Denmark and Norway), Body Aquatic Work (Hawaii), Rebirthing (Estonia and USA), Permaculture (Estonia), 5 Rhytms (Estonia), Wantra (Hawaii, Estonia, Mexico), and adventure tours organized by me in Mexico, Hawaii, Norway and Estonia.

The recent years I have mostly lived and worked a lot as a volunteer in Mexico, Puerto Vallarta area or done my online work, where an intimate connection with the Pacific ocean I have further developed the water techniques into my own water modality called Wantra.

This is part of what I will gladly share with the clients of Villa Ananda. It is my mission to inspire people to create the life of their dreams. I believe that my education, together with my collection and study of healing modalities and my travels around the world, has allowed me to perfect a system of ‘organized tranquility’ to share with others.

david_bustosI come from an indigenous community of Michoacan State; my descendants are the Purepecha. This community uses plants of the region as well the hands as healing tools since hundreds of years ago. As a child, I learned ways to heal people and had a passion for learning different styles of healing. I came into this world with a mission and I attribute this passion for health alternative remedies as a heritage from my ancestors. In fifty years of life I have cultured several tasks of different kinds. At the age of 18, I had never studied in a formal school and was still illiterate.

I was led to study at a private school, where I began to learn to read and write both, English & Spanish. I became the owner and director of a Bilingual Commercial Institute for fourteen years and then had a technical career as a Tourist guide.

In 2001, I started to study Homeopathic Medicine and obtained my master in REIKI Healing, as well as a diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kiatsu and Osteopathy. Then in 2008, I obtained a diploma in Naturopathy and a certificate for Pain Management. In 2010, I graduated from a Masters of Clinical Hypnosis.

During this time, I practiced for eight years using a blend of techniques. The last four years I’ve learned to combine these techniques and developed methods to address emotional, mental, physical and spiritual blocks in the body and its energy. All pain has a cause and root somewhere in the body and going to this source enables a means of release.

She is certified in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) and is a Family Constellation therapist. She now is practicing in the Bahia de Banderas area, located in Los Arroyos Verdes in Bucerias, but will be offering her services in San Pancho every other week.

In addition to her knowledge in preventive diseases, she has experiences teaching Anatomy, benefits and side effects of herbs and essential oils.

gyana_bayesAfter completing my nursing degree from NYU in 1968, I booked a flight to Europe and six months later arrived to New Delhi, India. As I journeyed overland, imprints of purpose began to emerge. Although I was quite unaware this was a spiritual journey at the outset, my life was now being guided by a higher power. I was guided to a small jungle ashram in Rishikesh in India, in March of 1970 and was initiated into the ancient practice of Ashtanga and Vedanta Yoga by a Yoga Master. For the next seven years, my life was devoted to the eight limbs of Yoga and to serving my Guru and the ashram. I returned to the U.S. in 1977 and entered into a householder’s life.

I was blessed with two amazing children and the ability to integrate my spiritual practice into a nursing career focusing on creating healing environments within the established healthcare system.

The call to return to a life of Yogic practice came last year and I returned to India and to my Guru. Resigning my hospital position, I am now released to refocus my life solely on my sadhana (spiritual practice). After experiencing Villa Ananda as a guest while traveling with my Guru, I answered a need to support their vision by serving those who come through creating healthy and healing meals. I will be living at Villa Ananda and look forward partnering with the team this season.

marcel_juriI was born in Argentina and for the past 20 years I have been living in Mexico, 16 years devoted entirely to the art of massage.

Before I finally settled in Mexico, I had the opportunity to travel for three years in Europe and Asia, where I learned various techniques of massage that I added to my repertoire. In Japan, I studied therapeutic massage Anma Shiatsu.

Today, I continue to study traditional Mexican healing massage and sports massage Stretching Therapy, especially for Yogis. I have 16 years of experience working as a therapist at the best Spas in the area of Puerto Vallarta and experience giving therapy in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

My specialty is therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage and Swedish relaxation massage. Each session is customized according to the client’s needs. In the therapeutic massage, pressure can be soft, medium or strong.

I combine Deep Tissue, Swedish massage, massage of Anma Shiatsu acupressure techniques and traditional Mexican healing in each session. I also offer Temazcal, sweat lodge, at Villa Ananda.

kaudia_saulBorn and raised in Austria, Klaudia has been travelling over 15 years (through the 5 continents) and during this time, it awoke her interest for “magic” places, indigenous people and villages, traditional cultures and shamanism. She learned different healing techniques like: subtle energy work, body work and the use of natural elements for healing (crystals, flowers, herbs and mud).

Her experience as a healer led her to develop her own massage technique and grow as a healer and as a human being.

Graduated in Traditional Swedish Massage (Swedish School of Massage Therapy, 1994) and Nuad Thai Massage (The Wat Po Traditional Medical School, Bangkok, Thailand, 1998). She also learned Anma-Shiatsu Massage, Bamboo Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Trigger-Points and Hot Stone Therapy among others.

In 2010 she found a life partner: Oscar Saúl. Together, they have united their knowledge in massage, healing and started to give a particular 4 Hands Healing Massage. (Tandem).

Her “spiritual quest” has led her to try and explore a variety of techniques of spiritual development, including different types of Meditation, Chi-Kung, Lian-Kung, Yoga, Bach Flower Remedies, Bio-Resonance Therapy and The Flower of Life (directly with Drunvalo Melchizedek). She received initiations of HH The Dalai Lama and Lama Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and other teachers and lineages.

“I consciously walk the path of light and love to freedom and self-realization. Happily, I share with and accompany those who are on the same path, A-HO”.

kaudia_saulBorn in México City in 1967, at the age of 13 he started an existential search which took him to know different spiritual paths (yoga, tai-chi, meditation and metaphysics). Two years later (1982) his maternal grandmother told him, he was the heir to their family healers’ lineage.

In 1989 he received his first Holistic Massage, and that experience changed his life. Immediately after that, he enrolled to his first massage course and started to devote himself to being a professional Massage Therapist. That same year he started to study psychology at the University of México (UNAM).

Always passionate about massage, healing, spirituality and psychology, he found a way to complement them with each other. From 1991 to 1993 he attended three formations of Therapeutic Massage. In 1992 he started his career as a Massage Teacher. His first massage courses he gave in various recognized institutions but soon, he began his own Course of Therapeutic Massage, in which he taught his own style of Holistic Massage among others, to 3 generations of psychologists of the Red Cross, and further on he developed also his own style of Psyche-Body Massage.

From 1996 to 1998 he achieved studies in Psyche-Body Therapy, in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and in Psyche-Body Characterology.
In 1999 his massage was already a massage of emotional release and of spiritual healing based on the energetic vision of the Traditional Mexican Healers and since then he has called it Holistic Mexican Massage.

In 2010 he found a life partner: Klaudia Engstler. Together, they have united their knowledge in massage, healing and started to give a particular 4 Hands Healing Massage. (Tandem).

sarikaI am half Mexican half Indian, born and raised in Mexico. I have travelled to India over 14 times.

From 2004 to 2007 I settled in New Delhi representing the Mexican Government as a Cultural Attaché at the Mexican Embassy.

Although my professional education was in graphic design, due to my origin, I have studied and lived a holistic life, interested in different faiths from Dzogchen Buddhism, to Kabbalah and Hinduism, without practicing a particular “religion”
I believe in God as energy without name nor material/physical shape but as OM.

I have an Ashtanga Yoga Certificate and an Ashtanga Ayurveda Course from the Ayurvedic Natural Health Center in Goa, India as well. My professional life has been dedicated to design for therapists, yoga schools, meditation center, and those dedicated for consciousness awareness, and many years dedicated to Public Relations.

In 2005, I developed a personal project/brand for Yoga and Meditation clothing line called sadhna mx for yoga and meditation practitioners. The line is based only on 100% natural fibers mixing fabrics made in Mexico and India, and uses the 7 chakra colors as a chromo therapy technique.

“Being part of Villa Ananda has brought a whole new vision and mission to my life, it is the perfect way to combine dharma and heart at the same time. It is the first place where my holistic way of perceiving life and my multi disciplinary tasks can be put together, to help in the path of healing others. I am very grateful, happy and feel excited to be part of Villa Ananda’s team!”.

ramiBorn in New York, I studied art, psychology, sociology and religions and began to explore meditation and Tai Chi. After travelling across the US when I was 20 and visiting several spiritual communities I had an inspiration to learn massage and holistic health modalities as a way to positively connect with and affect the people and world around me. I initially studied herbs, then Shiatsu, Zen Bodytherapy, Rolfing and Feldenkrais, and meditation. Shortly after this I joined a spiritual community and intensely practiced prayer and meditation for the next 11 years.

I continued bodywork personally until 2007 when I moved to Israel and re-immersed myself in it and worked in private massage practice in Tel Aviv until 2012. During that time I further studied Rolfing’s myofascial work, Shiatsu, Libra Spinal Balancing, and Trigger Point therapy, as well as dance, pre-natal massage, aromatherapy, and shamanic practices.

I was fortunate to learn Continuum with the founder Emily Conrad during the last 2 years of her life. Since then I’ve also studied Thai massage, Ayurvedic therapies, structural bodywork based on physical therapy principles, and water therapy as well as internal martial arts, music, and relationship and counseling methods which have also increased my sensitivity in working with people.

I’ve also become very interested in and incorporate Osteopathy, Dynamic Manual Interface, and Craniosacral Therapy which are hands on methods that operate from a basis of listening to and encouraging our bodies’ natural intelligence and power of healing.

“In my sessions I strive to listen to what each person and their body needs and weave together treatments to assist body and spirit in releasing blockages in the form of pain,

tension, and trauma and liberate the natural blissful flow of energy of in our bodies and lives”.
